 A distributed SoC balancing control method is proposed for series-type energy storage system (SESS) in grid-connected mode. Through this method, the SoC balancing and synchronization can be realized in both charge and discharge mode. The average SoC estimator is designed based on dynamic consensus control, which only relies on the communication between adjacent neighbors. The small signal stability of the proposed control method is proved by eigenvalue analysis. And the feasibility of the proposed method is verified by experiment results on Hardware-In-the-Loop.
