In this article, a wireless power transfer (WPT) system based on LCC-S compensation network is proposed for charging multi-drone. The combined-type spiral transmitting coil is designed by means of genetic algorithm, guaranteeing a larger uniform magnetic field zone on the charging plane, thus supplying power to several drones simultaneously. The double-layer spiral winding which can enhance magnetic coupling is designed, and also makes the receiver on drone lighter and more compact. The LCC-S compensation method is used for the multi-load WPT system to ensure that the output voltage is independent of the load. Finally, a prototype of drone WPT system with four loads is constructed. Through the corresponding experiments, it is verified that output voltage keeps around 14V under different conditions. And the highest power transfer efficiency can reach 85.54%. Meanwhile, the system has been proven to safely and efficiently charge the lithium battery connected with the battery management module.
