In order to enhance the insulation performance of insulating epoxy resin board under high humidity. The flashover characteristics of epoxy resin board with  superhydrophobic coatings  under artificial rain was investigated. The hydrophobicity, leakage current and surface discharge voltage of three kinds of insulating sticks samples were tested and analyzed. The test results show that the hydrophobicity of insulating epoxy resin board coated with super-hydrophobic coating increased under dry condition, the dry flashover voltage of the three different insulator cover samples has little difference and the difference is less than 5%; under rain condition, the wet flashover voltage super-hydrophobic coating were more than 75% higher than that of the uncoated sample, and The leakage current is about 1/9 of that of the uncoated sample.
