Wound rotor Brushless Doubly-fed Machine(BDFM) is a new type of motor. The internal magnetic field of BDFM is complicated.The magnetic field characteristics of BDFM are deduced by analytical method.In order to eliminate the unbalanced magnetic pull on both sides of the  rotor, the influences of the pole number combination of stator on the motor magnetic field and the electromagnetic force are studied. Taking two wound rotor BDFMs with different pole number combinations as examples, the field-circuit coupling models of the motor are established, the magnetic field characteristics of the BDFM are verified, and the effects of pole number combination on the air-gap magnetic field, rotor surface electromagnetic force and electromagnetic torque are analyzed. Finally, the effects of pole number combination on the local electromagnetic force of the BDFM rotor are studied. This paper provides data support for the design and performance improvement of wound rotor BDFM.
