Abstract
Humanity's concern for energy security and anxiety over environmental degradation has made it a global consensus to make full use of renewable energy. Grid-connected power generation from large-scale renewable energy sources, represented by solar energy, has become an unstoppable trend in new power systems. At the same time, in view of the volatility and abandonment problems caused by the increasing installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation, the role of gas turbines to smooth out the volatility and promote the consumption of new energy sources has become increasingly prominent. Based on the IES-SIM simulation software, a steady-state simulation model of a comprehensive energy system considering the coupling of photovoltaic power generation and gas power is established based on the topology map of the power grid and substation drawings in Ruili, Yunnan. Finally, the simulation results of the case section in IES-SIM are compared and analyzed to investigate the impact of the coupling between PV and gas power on the operation of the power system. The case study analysis verifies that the coupling of photovoltaic power generation and gas power has great potential to reduce network losses and improve power quality.
