Abstract
In order to manage the uncertainty induced by increasing penetration of renewable energy sources (RES), this paper proposes a novel robust dispatch strategy by exploiting the controllability of high voltage direct current (HVDC) system. Different from conventional models that considering the extreme scenarios in generator commitment schedule, our model devices the dispatch strategy by first considering the predicted case of RES and then iteratively enhancing the model robustness constraints. Utilizing the improved Benders decomposition algorithm, the characteristics of real-time dispatch, described by developed trajectory switching model, are fed back to day-ahead schedule model. By allocating the operational burdens between two stages, our model excavates the dispatch flexibility and thus the economic benefits are promoted.
