Abstract
Due to the randomness of wind speed and solar radiation intensity, lager-scale photovoltaic (PV) power station and wind farm connected to grid seriously affecting the stability of power system. With the advantage of flexible operation, quick start up and close down, pumped storage power station will be critical for renewable energy grid-connection in the future. In this paper, a wind-PV-pumped storage hybrid generation framework is put forward. The mathematical model which can reflect the generation characteristics of each unit is introduced. Based on the principle of low-pass filtering,an active power coordinated control strategy is designed to smooth power curves by filtering high frequency components of wind and solar power fluctuations. The proposed system is verified by MATLAB/Simulink software platform. The simulation results show that the control strategy is able to smooth out the fluctuation of renewable energy power output, and hybrid generation system can operate stably.
