Abstract
High-voltage gain DC-DC converters are required to be used in many industrial fields, such as photovoltaic (PV), fuel cells, electric vehicles and other new energy power generation systems. This article introduces a novel input-parallel output-series boost converter with a voltage-doubler cell in CCM. On the one hand, the converter can achieve 6 times the voltage gain of the traditional interleaved boost converter, which greatly improves the voltage gain and alleviates the current problem of insufficient boost capacity of non-isolated converters. On the other hand, the inherent structure of the converter brings the characteristics of lower input current ripple and lower switches and diodes voltage stress. This paper calculates the voltage gain and the voltage stresses across the power semiconductors, gives the analysis of the input current ripples. Finally, a prototype circuit rated 250W output power is implemented in the laboratory to validate the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
