Abstract
The continuous increase in the proportion of renewables leads to a decline in the voltage support capability of the direct-current transmission sending grid. Configuring distributed synchronous condenser in renewables stations can effectively solve the transient voltage problem. In order to maximize the configuration effect, this paper proposes an optimal configuration method for distributed synchronous condenser that considers the characteristics of high-proportion renewables direct current transmission systems. This method uses the improved trajectory sensitivity to screen out the candidate installation nodes that can improve the transient voltage stability of the system with the application of the synchronous condenser. In order to improve the capability of the system voltage support, the minimum configuration capacity is optimized by using the multiple renewable station short circuit ratio. Then a regulator that satisfies the safety, stability and economy of the power system is obtained. The validity of the synchronous condenser optimal configuration scheme is verified through a typical example.
