Abstract
Aiming at the problems of fuel tank rupture and explosion caused by internal discharge during the operation of HVDC converter transformers, the test principles and methods for simulating the failure of the converter on-load tap-changer, bushing riser and body were discussed. The arc test model was designed and manufactured, and the arc test with a rated current of 25kA and a fault cumulative energy value of 1.46MJ~13.89MJ was carried out, and the laws of current, arc voltage and cumulative energy in the dynamic development process of arc discharge fault were revealed. The real-type test data and test analysis methods are provided for the anti-explosion design of the converter transformer, the function verification of the quick pressure relief device and the analysis of the cause of the arc fault.
