Abstract
In view of the lack of high temperature performance and adhesion performance of SBR modified emulsified asphalt used for preventive maintenance seal layer, WER/SBR composite modified emulsified asphalt was prepared by adding waterborne epoxy resin (WER) and curing agent with different admixture amounts into SBR modified emulsified asphalt. The formation mechanism of composite modified asphalt was analyzed by fluorescence microscopy and Fourier infrared spectrum, and the adhesion between composite modified asphalt and aggregate was evaluated by adhesion test. The results show that the incorporation of waterborne epoxy resin can cause physical and chemical changes of SBR modified emulsified asphalt, and the phase structure of SBR modified emulsified asphalt will change when the admixture amounts reaches 40%. At the same temperature, the increase of water-borne epoxy resin content will improve the bond behavior of composite modified asphalt. It is suggested that the admixture amounts of waterborne epoxy resin in SBR modified emulsified asphalt is about 40%.
