Abstract
The Loess Plateau arid region has a complex disaster development pattern and variable soil and water hydrological characteristics, and many high-filled slopes have been formed in this environmentally fragile area due to trenching and land reclamation projects. Soil moisture controls the surface evapotranspiration, water transport and stability of loess slopes, and there are few studies on soil moisture in loess areas. Therefore, in this study, long-term in-situ monitoring was conducted on the high-filled slopes in loess areas during the concentrated rainfall period of the year (July to October).
