Abstract
This study is to evaluate the effects of asphalt binder and anti-rutting agent on the low-temperature crack resistance of HMA. Influencing factors considered in this study include one type of HMA, two types of asphalt binders and an anti-rutting agent at three dosages. HMA bending test of the small beam at low-temperature and thermal stress restrained specimen test (TSRST) were used to evaluate material performance. Results indicate that the temperature of the low end of PG has a significant effect on the low temperature performance of HMA. Adding an anti-rutting agent could negatively affect the low-temperature crack resistance of HMA.
