Along with the social progressing and economy soaring, passengers have generated more and more personalized travel demands that Traditional Bus (TB) could not satisfy any longer. To seek a way, Customized Bus (CB) was a feasible management innovation. In this study, empirical data of TBs and CBs was analyzed that operating on the round-trip between Changchun and Tonghua in Jilin. Measurement results showed that CBs were successful on the round-trip with an upward trend, and the passengers from Tonghua had more customized demands than the passengers from Changchun, especially in Augusts, and TBs had obvious weekly periodical change characteristics with the wave tops usually on Fridays and Sundays. The results indicated that customized transport service meets the individualized needs of various passengers, and the demand of CB had cyclical rhythms influenced by trip, season and date. Future directions could be expanding the sample size, supplementing the basis for indicator selection, focusing on the profit rather than income and finding out more influential factors of CB.
