Abstract
Port sub-category hinterland division is an important part of port planning. It is significant for improving the utilization of port resources and reducing the investment of both relevant parties. Therefore, based on the analysis of the existing method of port hinterland division and different port cargo classes, this paper proposes an improved plume model, which takes the impact degree of the port under different cargoes on the research area as the index. And the port capacity of the sub-category cargoes, the degree of association between the port and the research area, the accessibility and the optimal distance are taken as constraints. Then, the impact of ports on the hinterland under different types of cargoes is quantified and the hinterland is divided according to the degree of influence. Finally, taking a port group in northern China as an example, based on the current and planning conditions to hinterland division, the results show that compared with the existing port hinterland division method, this model can accurately solve the port hinterland range of sub-category cargoes, and can provide reference for port resource integration.
