Abstract
Researching poverty from a multidimensional perspective in tandem with spatial heterogeneity and its influencing factors, can provide an effective analysis of poverty in regions with characteristics similar and explore its poverty reduction targeting strategies to those of the contiguous destitute areas. Based on the theory of spatial differentiation and regional deprivation compensation, a multidimensional evaluation method for the poverty measure and spatial differentiation characteristics of the county areas is proposed. Taking the 91 impoverished counties in contiguous poverty-stricken areas in Yunnan province as an example, the leading factors and mechanism action of poverty regional spatial differentiation were analyzed, further divided the types of impoverished counties, and puts forward the corresponding poverty alleviation policies and measures. Results show that the traffic poverty in the Border Area of Western Yunan, the ecological poverty in the Rocky Desertification Area of Yunan and the human poverty in the Wumeng Mountain Area were particularly serious. The dominant factors that affect poverty regional spatial differentiation include the illiteracy rate of young people, traffic superiority, per capita GDP and the proportion of the ethnic minorities, and the interaction effect of two factors on the spatial heterogeneity of poverty is much greater than that of the single factor. Based on the spatial classification results of poverty heterogeneity mechanism and cluster analysis, the study area is divided into four types of poverty areas and formulate targeted poverty alleviation measures.
