The 20th and 21st joint COTA International Conference of Transportation Professionals (CICTP 2020-21)

Trade and freight industry in China have grown rapidly since the reform and opening up, and China has the largest expressway network in the world. But the current vehicles cannot meet requirements for the safe, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly of road freight. A potential answer to this problem is longer combination vehicles (LCVs), which can improve transport efficiency, reduce traffic congestion and lower fuel consumption. The present situation of LCV was illustrated through the introduction on existing programs in many countries. The evolution of freight vehicle types demonstrates how to develop from trucks to multi vehicle combinations. The outlook of a new generation of efficient road freight equipment focus on intelligence, modularity and lightweight.
