Research on the Factors and its Characteristics Influencing the Risks and Traffic Efficiency of Double-in Single-out Short Weaving Area of Urban Interchanges

Abstract
In order to explore the relationship between traffic safety and traffic efficiency and its influencing factors under a specific type of weaving area. This paper selects the length of weaving area, ramp traffic volume, main line traffic volume and interweaving flow ratio as influencing factors, conflict numbers and conflict rate as safety indicators, and delay and average speed as traffic efficiency indicators. Through the VISSIM simulation test, the test parameters were calibrated, and a total of 38 orthogonal tests were designed. This paper conducts range analysis and variance analysis on the test results, and obtains the importance of each influencing factor on each index. Studies have shown that for traffic safety and traffic efficiency in the weaving area, the length of the interweaving and the ramp flow are the two most important factors; for traffic safety, the main line traffic volume and the interweaving traffic ratio are of equal importance; for the traffic efficiency, the main line traffic volume is obviously more important than the interweaving traffic ratio.
