Abstract
Apart from the impact of energy sources, the stability of future power system will be predominantly driven by the dynamic interactions among electrical properties and converter control. The existing theories of power system stability based on phasor representations are not adequate to characterize the fast Electro-Magnetic Transient (EMT) dynamics, which converter controls are based on. As a start of the journey towards net-zero, voltage stability of power transmission will be revisited for its potential of unprecedented enhancement in the context of converter domination.
