Abstract
Due to the unbalanced distribution of energy resources in China, the main solution is to transmit electricity from west to east. In addition, the western part of China has a higher altitude, and the highest altitude can reach more than 5000m. Therefore, it is necessary to fully understand the corona characteristics of line fittings in high-altitude areas when constructing lines in the western region. In this paper, the ultraviolet imaging detection technology is used to carry out the corona characteristic test for different sizes and types of line fittings at different altitudes. The AC corona inception voltage values of several types of fittings at different altitudes were obtained through the test. The simulated altitude of this experiment was up to 5000 meters above sea level. Based on the experimental data and simulation modeling, the corona inception electric field values of the fittings under different pipe diameters were obtained. The test results of this paper could guide the design and operation of power transmission projects in high altitude areas.
