Abstract
In view of the green and environmentally-friendly properties of natural ester oil, it is suitable for offshore platform transformers. Thermo-fluid dynamics simulations for the 220kV power transformer cooled by natural ester oil working in ONAN mode are carried out in 2D model. The effects of disks washer structure for oil flowing in the form of the unidirectional flow in the groups of horizontal channels have been revealed. The computation temperature rises of natural ester oils and mineral oils were analyzed and compared with the measurements. The simplification of the model is also explained,this provides a reference for thermal compact design of offshore platform transformer cooled by natural ester oil .
