Abstract
The wind power integrated to the distribution network as distributed generation has complex influences on the voltage stability of the latter. In this paper, a voltage index for the distribution network containing distributed generations is proposed based on the existence of the power flow, then the index is used to study the impacts of the location, capacity and fault of the wind turbine on the voltage stability in a typical distribution system. The results show that the shorter the distributing line is, the larger the wind power capacity is, the more obvious the support role of the wind power on the distribution voltage is, but at the same time, the negative impacts of the instability of the wind power on the voltage is more serious. In conclusion, all the above factors should be taken into account during the procedure of distribution planning.
