Abstract
In order to solve the problem of gap breakdown discharge caused by foreign objects such as bird excrement or nesting materials approaching the insulator when birds fly over the disconnector or build their nests. Taking the 110 kV GW4 disconnector as an example, this paper studies the bird damage risk area of the insulator by means of three-dimensional electrostatic field finite element simulation, and analyzes the influence of different factors on the risk area, and finally draws the 110 kV GW4 disconnector insulator risk area map of bird damage. The results show that when the foreign object is located in different orientations of the insulator, the potential difference of the foreign object is relatively large, and the largest risk area can be obtained by selecting the orientation with the smallest potential of the foreign object, that is, the orientation opposite to the contact position. The risk area is greater in the case of the disconnector open than in the closed case. Finally, combined with the simulation results, the bird damage risk area of the disconnector insulator is drawn. The research results can provide a reference for the bird protection work of 110 kV GW4 and other similar projects.
