Abstract
Short-circuit fault is one of the most serious faults in the system. In order to ensure the safety and reliability of power transmission in the transmission system, circuit breakers are used to remove faults. The current development of power transmission systems has changed from AC to DC power transmission, low loss, small interference and other advantages of DC transmission had improved the transmission capacity. Under these advantages, the removal of DC faults gets more urgent. Circuit breakers have developed from AC circuit breakers to DC circuit breakers. At present, high-voltage DC circuit breakers are relatively mature, especially the hybrid high-voltage DC circuit breaker can cut off large fault currents in a short time. According to these, the low-voltage hybrid DC circuit breaker is used to remove the short-circuit fault in the DC distribution system. This paper simulates the characteristics of the low-voltage hybrid DC circuit breaker, which can break the fault current greater than 10kA at the DC800V voltage level.
