Abstract
    In order to research the protective performance of polyimide fabric as arc protective material, a synthetic circuit high current test platform was built to simulate arc flashover between two copper rods with a diameter of 19 mm and a length of 450 mm. By controlling the current level of the synthetic circuit test platform was 12.3 kA, 20 groups of tests were done, the arc flashover energy was measured by copper calorimeter. In addition, keeping the current level was 12.3 kA, the polyimide fabric was covered on the surface of the copper calorimeter for 20 groups of tests, and the arc flashover energy through the polyimide fabric was measured. In this paper, the polyimide fabric can play a protective role when the current level is 12.3 kA, and the arc energy under this current level is 110.7184 J/cm2, the arc energy is higher than I and II protection of Chinese DL /T 320-2019 general technical requirements for personal arc protective articles, it can provide a basis for the development of new arc protective equipment.
