Abstract
To fill the gap in the micro-evaluation of parking facilities attached to large complexes by traditional qualitative analysis, a quantitative evaluation approach is proposed. First, the spatial forms and the combined layout patterns of typical parking facilities are summarized, with a qualitative analysis of their features. Second, considering the entire parking activity chain, the accessibility and convenience evaluation indicators are formulated based on the traffic network accessibility theory. Complex network theory is also adopted to quantitatively estimate the load level of intersections and lanes in the parking lot network. Then, a parking facility evaluation system based on ArcGIS was developed, which is applied to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the layout of parking facilities: (1) Four types of parking spaces are defined according to their spatial performance by Gaussian Mixture Model; (2) The congestion-prone areas are identified based on the load levels of traffic network in the parking lot.
