Abstract
In the context of global carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, reducing transportation carbon emissions and increasing the proportion of green and low-carbon transportation modes have become common goals pursued by all cities. In the process of achieving this goal, transforming the travel mode structure, that is, from car oriented to public transport oriented, is the most critical and difficult task. With the development of new technologies such as autonomous driving and Internet of Vehicles, the Autonomous Road Traffic System will provide necessary conditions to solve this problem. Based on the case of Chinese cities, this paper discusses the current dilemmas in the transformation of urban transportation travel structure, analyzes the changes of the relationship between travelers, vehicles, roads, and services in the Autonomous Road Traffic System. On this basis, the traveler-centered optimization goals of the transportation system are proposed, a new multi-level autonomous public transport oriented mobility pattern is constructed, and its effectiveness and feasibility are evaluated and discussed.
