Abstract
Heavy-duty vehicles will produce a greater dynamic load, which will be likely to lead to early damage to the pavement. How to ensure road structure safety is an important issue to be considered. In this paper, the three-dimensional (3D) model of pavement roughness was constructed based on fractal theory and fractal interpolation. According to the 3D contact characteristics of tire pavement, the 3D elastic roller contact tire model was established. The 3D three-axle heavy-duty truck vibration model with 9 degrees of freedom (DOF) was re-derived and the road structure safety was analyzed. The results show that the safety of the road structure will not be adversely affected when the heavy haul truck runs on the A-level roughness pavement. For B-level roughness pavement, the speed should be controlled at 100km/h. For grade C uneven pavement, the speed should not exceed 80km/h. The research results will provide guidance and suggestions for maintaining road structure safety during heavy truck driving.
