Abstract
Bus delays account for a large proportion of the delay time at intersections, which can effectively alleviate the imbalance of traffic supply and demand in the city by reducing its delays. Therefore, the most effective strategy is to implement bus signal priority at signalized intersections. This paper optimized the intersection of Fengcheng 7th Road and Wenjing Road, and adopted a bus priority signal control strategy based on pre-signal. First the phase design and timing design were based on the amount of passenger flow at the intersection, and then the pre-signal was set. Next introduced the corresponding delay calculation method and used VISSIM software for simulation. The research results showed that compared with intersection before optimization, the intersection adopted bus priority signal control strategy based on the pre-signal, which significantly reduced the average bus delay and the total per capita delay at the intersection.
