Abstract
Shared parking is rapidly promoted as an essential way to alleviate parking problems. But a challenge lies in how to promote the utilization of shared parking by considering parking choice behavior. In this paper, travelers are allowed to choose between destination internal parking lot and the allocated shared parking space. We utilize cumulative prospect theory to model parking choice behavior considering three parking lot attributes, parking fee, walking distance, and parking time. Then, a novel shared parking space allocation model, N-SPSA model, is developed to maximize the utilization rate of shared parking spaces, considering parking choice behavior. Experiment results indicate that the utilization rate is significantly increased, and more travelers accept the allocation results by considering parking choice behavior. A reasonable reduction in parking fees of shared parking spaces would increase the utilization rate and only reduce a little revenue.
