Abstract
The directional discontinuities in the solar wind can significantly influence the turbulent spectrum and plasma heating. They are believed to disturb planetary space environment and cause space weather phenomena. Based on observations of the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN mission, we focused on their statistical characteristics, evolutions, and the space weather effects. By comparison with DDs in other planetary space environment, it can our understanding on the role of DDs in the solar wind-Mars coupling.
