Coal is one of the world's most abundant and widely consumed energy resources. Large-scale coal mining operations not only pose threats to mining development but also have severe impacts on surface ecological environments due to induced ground subsidence. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery offers the capability of high-precision, all-weather, and all-day monitoring of surface deformation, making it widely applicable in the research of coal mining-induced subsidence. This paper focuses on the mining area situated at the border region of Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia and conducts experiments in subsidence identification and monitoring using Gaofen-3(GF-3) SAR data and Sentinel-1 SAR data. First, based on Sentinel-1 and Gaofen-3 (GF-3) imagery, in conjunction with phase stacking techniques, SAR offset tracking technology, and the proposed Coherence Gradient Change Detection technology in this paper, deformation fields induced by mining activities within the study area are identified. Second, taking the Buertai Coal Mine as an example, a time series of coal mining-induced subsidence is obtained using Time Series Offset Tracking technology. Finally, an analysis is conducted on the application of multi-source SAR data in subsidence identification and monitoring in coal mining, as well as the spatiotemporal variations in deformation fields caused by coal mining activities. This study comprehensively utilizes different information and techniques from various sources of SAR data, providing technical reference for subsidence identification and monitoring in coal mining.
