First-Principles Studies on X-Ray Thomson Scattering from Warm Dense Matter
Warm Dense Matter
Abstract Accepted
Chongjie Mo / Beijing Computational Science Research Center
Based on the quantum perturbation theory, we rederive a decomposition formula for x-ray Thomson scattering spectra from warm dense matter and provide a first-principles method for the calculation of entire spectra. Moreover, we introduce the plane-wave approximation into the first-principles modeling of the x-ray Thomson scattering spectra so that the computational costs can be greatly reduced. This method promises to provide an alternative way to overcome the difficulty long lying in the theoretical modeling of x-ray Thomson scattering for the intermediate states between warm and hot dense matters.
