Relativistic electron beams driven by lasers have the characteristics of short pulses, high energy, and high charge, which are used in the fields of superheat electron transport, fast ignition of electron beams, electron imaging, and the generation of ultra short X-rays/ γ Radiation source and neutron source have important application value, and are frontier hot spots in high energy density physics, strong field physics and laser nuclear physics. In this experiment, we make the ns laser drive the gold cavity to radiate and heat the foam to produce a near critical density plasma, and the ps laser interacts with the near critical density plasma to produce hot electrons. Use an IP stack to measure the angular distribution and charge of electrons generated, and an electron spectrometer to measure energy. Generation of secondary X through the interaction between hot electrons and high Z tantalum targets/ γ X-ray radiation, measured by activation method and high-purity germanium detector for X-ray energy spectrum. It was found that compared with the laser thin film interaction, the temperature and brightness of the electron beam were significantly improved, as shown in Figure 1.
