Recent progresses in ultrafast science have approved the advantages of using attosecond pulses to explore atomic, molecular, and solid-state physics in ultrashort time-scales. As one of the most promising ways to achieve a coherent attosecond light source with both high photon flux and energy, the relativistic high-order harmonic generation process (RHHG) has been extensively studied in theory and experiments over the past two decades. The RHHG source, with its high temporal-spatial resolution and exceptional ability to detect photon-induced phenomena with low cross-section, holds enormous potential for advancing ultrafast metrology fields.

While the spatial properties of the far-field harmonic field are essential for the applications to provide higher precision, the theoretical and experimental methods for the far-field wavefront and intensity synthesis remain to be explored. We have advanced a comprehensive theoretical model to examine the aberration transferring from the driving pulse to the far-field harmonic field in this study. It has been demonstrated that the driving laser aberration can substantially affect the harmonic spatial intensity distribution. And the far-field wavefront is observed to be comprised by the driving pulse aberration and distortion that arises from the denting plasma mirror surface. It allows us to control the XUV wave form in driving IR wavelength` range.

We have recently made progress in our experimental capabilities by developing a high-numerical-aperture Hartmann wavefront sensor capable of analyzing the far-field harmonic field. This innovative device has enabled us to conduct experimental investigations into wavefront synthesis at the new lab on extreme ultraviolet sources at Shenzhen Technology University, an introduction to the new lab will be delivered as well.
