We have developed a new code PHAMTAM based on the geometric optical approximation and convective amplification model to study Cross-Beam Energy Transfer (CBET) under a series of parameters relevant to the direct-drive inertial confinement fusion (ICF). It is found that tuning the counter-propagating laser polarization to orthogonal can effectively suppress CBET. Additionally, in our particular laser configuration, it is shown that CBET is the weakest without any wavelength separation within the range of achievable wavelength separation in engineering. The laser system configuration is optimized to suppress CBET with PHAMTAM simulations. Further development of PHAMTAM including pump depletion and more accurate modeling of the laser fields near the reflection region are planned.
