The Laser Plasma Instability (LPI) is a major factor that affects Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) ignition, and it is closely related to plasma parameters. The stimulated Raman scattering is one of the main hazards associated with LPI, which can lead to a reduction in laser energy coupling efficiency and generate hot electrons that can preheat the target pellet. While backward Raman scattering has received significant attention in the past few decades, recent experimental evidence from several groups in China and abroad has confirmed the importance of stimulated Raman side-scattering (SRSS)[1-3]. As a result, SRSS is gaining renewed attention. This study proposes a novel method to SRSS by using a vector light field. By comparing the results with those obtained using line polarized light, it was found that the SSRS can be completely suppressed by using the proposed vector light[4]. This work provides a new regulatory direction for suppressing LPI based on polarization, which is a novel way to understand LPI.
