Studies of laser wakefield accelerators at IHEP

Fundamental Physics at Extreme Light > Particle Acceleration-II

Laser wakefield accelerators (LWFAs) are regarded as the particle accelerators of the next generation. Our group at Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is doing researches of LWFAs in several aspects. In this talk, I will present our progresses on the studies of injection mechanism for obtaining both high charge and low energy spread electron beams in LWFAs. In addition, I will present our study on the betatron oscillation for long-distance plasma accelerators, including our new model of betatron oscillation and radiation reaction, and the new phenomena discovered based on the new model.
