Anomalous diffraction of light at relativistic intensities
Abstract Accepted
Longqing Yi / Shanghai Jiao Tong University
At relativistic intensities, the laser-plasma interaction becomes highly nonlinear, which changes the behavior of light significantly. It has been previously found that high-order harmonic beams are generated when a relativistic light diffracts through an aperture, and with perfect axial symmetry, this can lead to exotic effect of spin-orbital interaction of light [1]. In this talk, we continue to explore the anomalous optical phenomena in the diffraction of relativistic light, especially when the axial symmetry is broken (eg. with single-slit diffraction or linearly polarized laser). A few interesting effects will be discussed, including the generation of twisted diffraction pattern and anomalous polarized harmonic pulses.
