The suppression of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) via a stochastic phase low-coherence laser (SPLL) is conducted through theoretical analysis and one-dimensional particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation. The SPLL is regarded as a combination of a monochromatic laser and a broadband laser. As phase randomness increases, the bandwidth of the SPLL widens and the energy proportion of the monochromatic laser decreases. Results from the PIC simulation demonstrates significant suppression of SRS and hot electron generation when utilizing the SPLL. Further explanation of related nonlinear phenomena, such as nonlinear frequency shift and the competition between forward-scattering and back-scattering modes, are also discussed in detail.
