In this paper, the impact characteristics of self-oscillating pulse jet and ordinary premixed jet on the target under different pressure and target distance conditions are tested and analyzed by self-designed laboratory abrasive water jet cutting system with piezoelectric quartz force sensor and acoustic emission high-speed acquisition and analysis system, and the impact characteristics of the two jets are compared and analyzed. Under the same target distance and pressure conditions, the impact pressure of the self-oscillating pulse jet on the target is much larger than that of the ordinary premixed jet on the target. This indicates that the impact crushing and cutting ability of the self-oscillating pulse jet has a significant advantage over the ordinary premixed jet. The measured impact pressure fluctuation characteristics under different pressure conditions were used to calculate the pulse frequency of the self-oscillating pulse jet, and the pulse frequency of the self-oscillating pulse jet was measured for the first time by using a high-speed camera to photograph the pulse jet and using matlab image processing method, and the pulse frequency characteristics derived from the two methods were consistent.
