The power grid faces numerous challenges due to the volatile increase in new energy sources. Power to gas facilities offer a solution by converting electricity into gas, thereby facilitating the development of an integrated electricity natural gas system and boosting the utilization of renewable energy locally. To address uncertainties in energy sources, we develop a sophisticated electricity-to-gas model that incorporates P2G technology. Subsequently, a robust optimization model is created for the integrated energy system, incorporating the refined P2G model. Through the analysis of calculation examples of different load scenarios and different models, we can conclude that P2G technology and robust optimization models can significantly improve system wind curtailment, and fully improve system economy and energy efficiency.
