Abstract
This article establishes a transient simulation model for urban distribution networks with intermittent arc grounding faults for arc suppression coil grounding systems. The simulation analyzes the impact of arc suppression coils on arc grounding overvoltage from three aspects: compensation degree, response speed, and exit speed. The simulation results show that the suppression effect of intermittent arc overvoltage is the best when the arc suppression coil operates in a state close to full compensation; After an intermittent grounding fault occurs, immediately switch on the arc suppression coil, which can effectively suppress the overvoltage caused by the next arc after the arc is extinguished; If the arc suppression coil is not exited in a timely manner, it may cause the problem of series resonance overvoltage. Finally, a suppression strategy for arc grounding overvoltage in the arc suppression coil grounding system is proposed.
