With the development of global digitization and the Internet of Things, the popularity of smart homes is becoming increasingly widespread. In order to improve its convenience, security, and compatibility, this article has completed a relatively complete and user self-developed smart home system based on the Home Assistant (HA) system. We combine technologies such as WIFI, RFID, NFC, information technology, and the Internet of Things, using the ESP8266 chip and Node-RED tool to connect various sensors and actuators to HA through ESPHome, achieving equipment services and application connections, controlling and monitoring indoor facilities, achieving goals such as safety monitoring, energy management, equipment management, and remote monitoring, truly meeting the needs of different user groups and ensuring user safet
