Dynamic analytical modeling is an important method to study the dynamic characteristics of deep groove ball bearings with fault excitation. This paper, based on Hertz contact theory, establishes a novel three-dimensional deep groove ball bearing dynamic analytical model. The proposed model considers independent degrees of freedom of multiple rigid bodies, rotational attitude, dynamic circular motion of balls and mixed elastic lubrication of the bearing with a single fault in the inner, outer raceway and balls, respectively. The contact points in three-dimension in this model are considered to be dynamic. By utilizing quaternions, the attitude of the bearing elements in space is accurately described. Then, the simulation and experimental results of the vibration characteristics of the faulty bearing are compared and analyzed to verify the accuracy of the proposed model.
