Under the pipeline's water-filled condition, ultrasonic guided wave detection will produce offset and cause inaccuracy. The error caused by water-filling after the residual signal is obtained will be mixed with the damage signal for plastic pipeline guided wave detection, which cannot see the signal of damage information, making our assessment of the health degree and damage information of plastic pipeline inaccurate. In this study, we use the baseline signal stretch (BSS) compensating technique to the signal of plastic water-filled pipes and run simulations using COMSOL to confirm the method's viability. It is shown that the residual amplitude of the compensated signal is significantly reduced, the residual and damage are significantly different, and the water-filling error is not combined with the damage data
