Recently, organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) have emerged as a promising technology in point-of-care diagnosis owing to the merits of unique signal conversion and amplification functions and their potential for miniaturization and integration, and therefore provide a convenient and non-invasive method for rapid and immediate clinical diagnosis in life and health monitoring. However, it is difficult for OTFTs to achieve specific identification from mixed samples due to the non-specific adsorption interference of biomarkers, affecting diagnostic results' accuracy. Herein, starting from the composition, mechanism, and construction strategy of OTFT-based biosensors, our group has developed a series of methods for functionalization on sensing surfaces and realized the simultaneous detection of a variety of disease biomarkers, such as alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and prostate antigen (PSA), which is conducive to enhancing the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic results and has important scientific significance and social value in point-of-care diagnosis.
