Abstract
A neural interface is a powerful tool kit needed to stimulate or record the electrical activity of the nervous system. At present, the electrode design of neural interface is still based on metal materials, but the recording sensitivity is often affected by the impedance limitation of traditional metals. In addition, the development of neural electrode materials also faces problems such as limited function, mismatching between materials and neural tissues and mechanical stability need to be improved. Faced with a series of challenges, carbon-based materials with high double-layer capacitance have the characteristics of low interface impedance, which is conducive to improving the signal-to-noise ratio and sensitivity of electrical signal transmission. Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials, which are easy to surface modify, offer the possibility of enhancing various functionalization capabilities of neural interfaces. Based on this, this research aims to prepare electrode array devices based on carbon-based 2D nanomaterials through different synthesis and processing methods and explore their advantages in the development of neural electrodes, so as to improve the existing problems in current applications.
