Abstract
In order to reduce the hazards of traditional railroad sand damage on the line, a new type of mechanical sand barrier is proposed, which can reduce the disturbance of lateral wind on the high-speed railway as well as reduce the deposition of track sand particles, and the combination of wind tunnel experiments and numerical simulation is used to study the protective performance of the structure. The results show that the new mechanical sand barriers have similar flow field structure with the traditional sand barriers, and the development degree of vortex flow and wind speed attenuation ability on the leeward side of the sand barriers are much stronger than that on the windward side, so the leeward side of the sand barriers is a large sand sinking area; the performance of the sand barriers is related to the angle of the diagonal insertion plate, and the performance of the double-row sand barriers is related to the spacing between their two rows of sand barriers.
