Abstract
Transmission imaging with low energy x-ray is a main method to diagnose micro-ejecta distribution of metals, such as Sn, Cu, and AZ31(Mg-Al-Zn alloy), under detonation loading. The data resulting from x-ray image reveals that photon energy plays an important role in resolution. Some evaluations via step wedges are applied to address the development as well as the detection potential of flash x-ray machine. For high contrast images, the operation of energy spectrum hardening should be avoided in optical path as far as possible. Our initial obtained resolution has reached 1um for target Sn. Improvement and application for future work are briefly discussed.
